ANNOUNCEMENTS

Saturday, September 27^th, Central Illinois Food Bank will be hosting a food distribution @ Taylorville High School.  We are in need of volunteers to serve from 8:30 – 11:30.  Sign-up sheets are in the main office.

Spain 2015 trip

There will be a meeting for anyone interested in the trip to Spain this June at the Taylorville Public Library community room on Monday, September 29^th from 7:00 until 7:30pm.

Student Council

The first blood drive of the year will be this Friday, September 26. All students must sign up in the main office. Only students who are 16 or older may give blood.  Sixteen year olds must fill out a parental permission form and bring it on the day of the blood drive. Athletes who are IN season may not give blood.

Science Club

Science club is planning an outing to UIS telescope star party on Friday evening, September 26th.   Details and Signup sheet is outside Ms. Koenig’s Room 133.

Library Club

There will be a library club meeting after school today.  Anyone interest in joining, please feel free to attend.

Scholastic Bowl

There will be a meeting after school today in Room 306 for any student who would like to be part of the THS Scholastic Bowl teams.   If you have any questions, see Mrs. Tanner or Mr. Blades.

COUNSELING

We are sponsoring our annual College Night to be held Wednesday, October 8^th from 6:30 – 8:00 p.m. in the high school cafeteria.  Representatives from 48 colleges, universities, technical schools and the military will be in attendance to distribute information and answer questions.  There will also be two financial aid seminars presented at 6:00 – 6:45 p.m. and 7:15 – 8:00 p.m.  This event is free and open to all students and parents from Taylorville and surrounding schools.  No reservations are necessary.  

Attention Students:  Interested in a career in law enforcement?  Consider being a member of the Law Enforcement Explorer Post.  A police officer will be here today during the lunch hours in the Cafeteria to discuss the program with interested students.  An Open House is scheduled for Thursday, October 2^nd at 7:00 p.m. in the basement of City Hall.
