The Illinois Coalition for Community Services is hosting a Career and Education Fair this evening from 5:00 - 7:00 pm at the Christian County YMCA. Learn about job opportunities in the fields of transportation and industry, commercial electric maintenance, automotive technology, health professions, welding, cosmetology and barbering, emergency medical services, fire science and law enforcement. Open to all youth ages 16-24.

Attention all students: There will be an informational meeting for all students interested in becoming a member of the NEW THS Powerlifting Team after school in the weightroom. Students who wish to learn more about the newly formed team/club and the sport of powerlifting are more than welcome to attend. The team will be for both Male and Female competitors in grades 9-12. Powerlifting is the most inclusive sports around and all students, regardless of lifting experience are encouraged to participate. If you are looking for a positive, supportive, and family oriented team to be a part of, I strongly urge you to attend the meeting. Students who wish to learn more about the newly formed team/club and the sport of powerlifting are more than welcome to attend. The team will be for both Male and Female competitors in grades 9-12. Powerlifting is the most inclusive sports around and all students, regardless of lifting experience are encouraged to participate. If you are looking for a positive, supportive, and family oriented team to be a part of, I strongly urge you to attend the meeting. There is a field trip opportunity for ALL FRESHMAN on Wednesday, Nov 13! Freshman will have the choice to visit one of three locations: The University of Illinois at Springfield, Lincoln Land Community College and CACC, or the Building Trades Expo Show in Springfield.

There are permission slips in your freshman seminar class, in the main office, or you can see Mr. Odam in Room 141. All permission slips need to be signed by a parent/guardian and returned to Mr. Odam today.

THS Rule Reminder of the Week

Early Dismissal Incentives -

Sophomores, Juniors and Seniors will be exempt from Advisory class if they meet the following criteria:

1. Earn a C+ 76.5% or better in all classes

2. Not miss more than 4 verified days per class/per semester (Medical related absences do not apply)

3. Zero instances of Truancy, AER, ATS, or OSS

4. Students who have earned EDI and then fail a class (at Quarter) will be placed in an Advisory for the remainder of the Semester for academic assistance.

5. Students may be placed in an Advisory if they choose.

6. Students may meet with teachers, make-up test, or get assistance during Advisory even if they have earned the Early Dismissal Incentive. (EDI students that choose to stay for Advisory must do so until 3:01 p.m.)
