STUDENTS

Do you want to test yourself? Are you looking for a challenge that will improve yourself as a person? Are you looking for a boost in self-confidence? Do you want to learn the world's oldest sport? Do you want to be part of a special family? The Vortex Wrestling Academy is now accepting participants, boys AND GIRLS, for the upcoming spring 2019 season. The primary focus of the academy is to teach the great art of wrestling to any boy AND GIRL entering grades 5th-12th grade in the surrounding area. The academy will run from March thru June and will practice 2x's per week with a competitive focus on the Olympic Wrestling styles, Freestyle and Greco-Roman. Softball

There is a mandatory softball meeting today after school in room 146. If you plan on playing softball this spring you must be at this meeting. If you have questions see Coach Novar.

GSA
GSA will be watching the movie Love, Simon today in Ms. Ames' room (132) at 3:30. Anyone who wants to watch with us is welcome to join.

Volleyball

There will be a High School Volleyball meeting in the East Gym Friday morning before school at 8:10 a.m. for anyone interested in playing next year.

Musical

Spring Musical Crew applications are available for students wishing to work behind the scenes for this year's production of Rodgers and Hammerstein's CINDERELLA! Yellow application packets can be picked up in the main office, or from Mr. Chase in the Choir Room. Completed packets are due back no later than Friday, February 22. Crew is a lot of work, but it can also be a lot of fun! We hope you can join us!

Taylorville FFA Plans a Fun Filled FFA Week
The Taylorville FFA Chapter has a very exciting week planned to celebrate National FFA
week. They will be performing many exciting activities such as dress up days, cookouts, a
cow calling contest, and drive your tractor to school day. The dress up days are as follows:

Wednesday, February 20 will be hee haw, yee haw day. Cowboys, cowgirls, and country folk
Thursday, February 21 will be dress like your favorite ag teacher day.
Friday, February 22 will be camouflage day and drive your tractor to school day.

Prizes will be awarded to the people who dress with the most creativity.

On Thursday, February 21st the FFA will be showing their appreciation to the wonderful staff
and teachers at the Taylorville High School. Members will be grilling burgers and providing
chips, drinks, and a dessert to show the appreciation for all the hard work of our staff and
teachers.

THS STORE

The School Store is now open every morning
from 8 to 8:20. If you find yourself getting hangry, we now have granola
bars for sale.

Counseling Center

Attention all juniors: the SAT is fast approaching. Brush-up your math skills in Mrs.Rivecco’s room, every Thursday during advisory. Practice + Confidence = Success!

JUNIORS: A representative from ISAC will be here on today during lunch periods in Room 146. These mentoring sessions are a good time to ask questions about post-secondary options, scholarship opportunities, financial aid and much more! You may also bring your lunch!
