Students

Congratulations to the THS Madrigal Singers for placing in the top three of the WNNS Christmas Choir Competition! They will now get to perform at the Tree Lighting ceremony at the Old State Capital this Saturday, and have a chance to win $500 for the choir program!

Mental Health Moment

Stop complaining.

This week, take a break from complaining and focus on the good things. Through rough patches in our lives, it’s easy to look at every small thing and find something negative, but this week make an effort on looking at the bright side of things.

Practicing positive outlook will improve your ability to see the bright side of things sooner and increase optimism.

Attention THS Students

During lunch periods this week please collect your student ID badge and lanyards. It is important that you do so, because starting on Monday, December 2nd (when we return from
Thanksgiving) students will be required to wear their IDs throughout the day. Additionally,
students will need their IDs in order to purchase school lunches.

Rule Reminder of the Week:

Please be sure to adhere to the following dress code reminders:
  • Hats, sunglasses, hoods, are not to be worn in the
  • building.
  • Once students enter the building please remove all head wear.
  • Coats and jackets are not to be worn throughout the school day.
  • These items should be hung up and placed in a student’s locker
  • Students are to wear their ID badges throughout the entirety of the school day.
  • If a student is not in compliance with the dress code they will be issued the following consequences:
  • o 1st instance - correct wardrobe and issued Warning
  • o 2nd instance - correct wardrobe and 1 detention
  • o 3rd instance - correct wardrobe and 2 detentions
  • o 4th instance - escalating consequences resulting in AER, Parental conference
Angel Tree

The Christmas Angel tree has an abundance of Angels waiting to be selected. Please remember after you select an angel to sign the list on the counter and take an instruction sheet. Gifts will need to be returned by Friday, December 6th. Please DO NOT WRAP your gift. Simply return the items in a trash bag with your Angel attached to the bag. Questions? Counseling Department

The Illinois Coalition for Community Services is hosting a Career and Education Fair on December 4 from 5:00 - 7:00 pm at the Christian County YMCA. Learn about job opportunities in the fields of transportation and industry, commercial electric maintenance, automotive technology, health professions, welding, cosmetology and barbering, emergency medical services, fire science and law enforcement. Open to all youth ages 16-24.
