Saturday, September 27th, Central Illinois Food
Bank will be hosting a food distribution @ Taylorville High School. We are
in need of volunteers to serve from 8:30 – 11:30. Sign-up sheets are in
the main office.
Art Club
There
will be an Art Club meeting today after school in Room 153.
Student Council
The first blood drive of the year will be this Friday,
September 26. All students must sign up in the main office. Only students who
are 16 or older may give blood. Sixteen year olds must fill out a
parental permission form and bring it on the day of the blood drive. Athletes
who are IN season may not give blood.
Science Club
Science club is planning an outing to UIS telescope star
party on Friday evening, September 26th. Details and Signup
sheet is outside Ms. Koenig’s Room 133.
Library Club
There will be a library club meeting Thursday (September 25) after
school. Anyone interest in joining, please feel free to attend.
Scholastic Bowl
There will be a meeting after
school in Room 306 on Thursday, Sept. 25th for any student who would
like to be part of the THS Scholastic Bowl teams. If you have any questions, see Mrs. Tanner
or Mr. Blades.
Girls Basketball
Girls’
basketball open gyms will begin today at 4:15 p.m. in the East Gym.
COUNSELING
We are sponsoring our annual College Night to be held
Wednesday, October 8th from 6:30 – 8:00 p.m. in the high school
cafeteria. Representatives from 48 colleges, universities, technical
schools and the military will be in attendance to distribute information and
answer questions. There will also be two financial aid seminars presented
at 6:00 – 6:45 p.m. and 7:15 – 8:00 p.m. This event is free and open to
all students and parents from Taylorville and surrounding schools. No
reservations are necessary.
Attention Students: Interested in a career in law
enforcement? Consider being a member of the Law Enforcement Explorer
Post. A police officer will be here on Thursday, September 25 during the
lunch hours in the Cafeteria to discuss the program with interested
students. An Open House is scheduled for Thursday, October 2nd
at 7:00 p.m. in the basement of City Hall.
