ANNOUNCEMENTS
Prom
Prom Tickets will be on sale during the lunch hours only. Tickets are $15 and $10 for Senior PSAE Incentive Winners. Valet Parking Sign-up will also take place during the lunch hours.   Sign up early for a closer parking spot. Prom is Saturday, May 2nd from 8:00 – 11:00 p.m. Doors will open at 7:45 p.m. and Coronation begins at 8:30 p.m. Tuxedo coat check in, Purse/Shoe check in, snacks and bottled water will all be available for $1 each.

Prom Committee will be meeting after school all week in the cafeteria to begin assembly!
Fun Photo will be taking pictures during prom.  Picture order forms are available in the Main Office. 

Reminder to Senior Prom Court members: Practice for Coronation will be held FRIDAY morning at 7:45 a.m. in the cafeteria.

LUNCH will be eaten in the West Gym on FRIDAY!

Prom Attendees:
Guest Passes are available in the Main Office.  Prom is for Junior and Senior students and their guest.  If you are bringing a guest that is not a student at THS the following rules apply:

1.        Guest cannot be a student at any junior high school.
2.       THS student is responsible for securing a guest pass form and having their guest complete all the required information.
3.       THS student is required to have guest pass form signed by Taylorville High School Administrator prior to the event and student must present form along with picture ID of guest to gain entrance to the dance.
4.       In order to purchase tickets for prom THS student (Jr.  & Sr. Only) must provide an approved copy of guest pass.

Seniors
Any graduating senior who would like to volunteer to give the invocation or benediction at the graduation ceremony, please see Mrs. Sandy Williams in the Main Office.

Madrigal Auditions
Madrigal Auditions will be held during the month of May for next year’s Madrigal Singers group.  If you have thought about being a part of this exciting tradition, this is your chance!  Information sheets and the required music for the audition are available now in the main office and outside the choir room (room 159).  There will be an optional audition workshop at 3:30 on Monday, May 4.  Anyone who wants to know what the audition will be like and learn the required music should attend the workshop.  Auditions will be held Tuesday, May 5 and Wednesday, May 6.  You must sign up for a specific audition time outside the choir room

Attention Actors:  It is time to audition for a new Madrigal Scullery Maid and Court Jesters.  Both parts are very important to the success of the Madrigal Dinner.  Information sheets and required script readings are available now in the main office and outside the choir room (room 159).  There will be an optional audition workshop at 4:00 on Monday, April 28.  Auditions will be held Thursday, April 29 and Friday, April 30 beginning at 3:30 pm both days.  See Mr. Chase if you have any questions.  These auditions don’t come around every year, so take advantage of this opportunity if you are at all interested!

Student Council
Student Council applications are available from Mr. Aymer in room 152 or Mrs. Sorrill in room 226.  All applications are due by 3:30 pm today.    If you take an application, please be sure to read the coversheet thoroughly. If you have any questions, please see Mr. Aymer or Mrs. Sorrill.

Counseling Center
Attention Seniors:  If you are receiving a scholarship or award for Senior Awards Night, please return your blue form to Ms. Wagoner in Student Services.  This includes all college and university scholarships.   This information will be printed in the commencement program so it is important to return your form by May 1.

Driver Education and Credit Recovery Summer school registration forms are now available from the counselors in the Student Services office.  All registration forms must be submitted with the registration fee in order for the student to be placed on the list.  Both programs are limited in space.  If you have any questions, see your counselor.  Credit Recovery students must discuss with your counselor which class (es) you need to sign up for in summer school.  There is a limit of two classes for credit recovery registration.

Attention Seniors:  The Dorris Scholarship application is now available in Student Services.  Applicants must plan on attending Eastern Illinois University.  Deadline to apply is today, April 30, 2015. 

Attention Seniors:  Applications for the Midland Community Bank are now available in Student Services.  This scholarship awards two $500 monetary gifts.  Application is due Friday, May 1.

Attention Seniors:  Applications for the Kids Are Kids Scholarship are now available in Student Services.  This scholarship awards one $1,000 monetary gift to a student who is planning on majoring in education for students with special needs or for students who currently receive special services.

Attention Seniors:  The application for the Stonington Lions Club Scholarship is now available in Student Services or online on the counseling page of the high school website.  Applicants must live in the former Stonington School District.  Deadline to apply is July 1.

Attention Students:  Applications for summer employment at Monsanto corn research and soybean purity are now available in Student Services.  Application deadline is May 22.

Volunteer Opportunity

Taylorville United Methodist Church is looking for students to do volunteer work at their summer meal program.  Further information may be obtained by call Cindy at 824-2782.  Applications are available in the Main Office.
