ANNOUNCEMENTS
This is science week.   There will be science activities taking place during advisory every day this week.   Today (Tues) Toothpick Bridge Breaking in the cafeteria!

The week of February 22nd through February 26th is FFA Week!
·       Tuesday, February 23rd is FFA Jacket Day – Wear your FFA jacket or borrow one from Mrs. Schafer.
·       Wednesday, February 24th is FFA T-Shirt Day & Cookout- Choose your favorite FFA shirt and don’t forget to attend the cookout in Mr. Elvidge’s room during lunch hours.  In order to eat, you have to bring a canned good.
·       Thursday, February 25th is Flannel Day – Wear your favorite flannel, preferably national blue and corn gold.
·       Friday, February, 26th is Tractor Day – Drive your tractor to school!  Park in the parking lot on the North side of the football practice field.
Tomorrow, Wednesday, February 24th we will be having a hat day.  It will be $2 to wear a hat and all proceeds will go the memorial.
Dodgeball Tournament
There will be a dodgeball tournament on Wednesday, February 24th at 6:30 p.m. in the West Gym.  Teams should consist of 6-8 players with at least two of each gender.  The cost is $40 per team.  Registration sheets will be available in the Main Office the week of the tournament.
Volleyball Tournament
St. Mary’s Youth Group is having a volleyball tournament on Saturday, February 27th.  Registration starts at 6:30 p.m. and the tournament begins at 7 p.m.  The cost is $5 per person and $1 for spectators.  There are 6-8 players per team and players 7th grade and up can play.  All proceeds will benefit Loving Arms Crisis Pregnancy Center in Taylorville.
Wrestling
Attention all Wrestlers:  There will be a brief meeting after school in the art room on Wednesday, February 24th for anyone interested in participating in wrestling for the 2016-2017 school year.  If you have any questions, see Coach Mateer.
Student Athletes
There is one opportunity left in the area to see Mr. Jack Renkens, a former college coach and expert in college recruiting.  The events are free of charge and are being held as follows:

The Taylorville Park District has Job Opening for lifeguards, front desk and concessions for Manners Park Pool, as well as, Day camp counselors and directors.  The Park District is also looking for a responsible individual to run the Don Bragg Concession Stand beginning late April till mid-November.  Interested candidates must have reached the age of 15 and reside within the Taylorville Park District to be considered for employment.  The Park District will give the training needed to be a certified lifeguard.   Those wishing to work concessions must have a food handler’s license or be willing to attain one.  Applications may be picked up at the Manners Park Office Monday-Friday 8:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. & 1:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m. or on line at www.taylorvilleparkdistrict.com.  All applications must be turned in not later than 4:00 p.m. Friday, March 4, 2016.  The Taylorville Park District is an equal opportunity employer.
