Key Club
Sign-up for the 2016-2017 Key Club Officers are located in Miss Ames’ room 132.
3 on 3 basketball tournament have been rescheduled to Wednesday April 27th, at 6 pm in the West Gym. Sign-up sheets are in the main office, return the sign-up sheets and money to Mrs. Dowson's room (room 128) or Miss Ames' room (room 132) by Friday April 22nd.
Cheer
There will be a cheer clinic for any student interested in trying out for the 2016-2017 cheer team beginning today from 4:30 p.m. until 7:30 p.m. in the East Gym.
Prom
Prom Committee will be selling prom t-shirts today - Friday during lunch hours. Cost is $15.00 and money is due at time of ordering. A picture of the shirts will be available.
The first round of prom voting will take place today - Friday during lunch.
Student Council
Student Council applications for the 2016-2017 school years are available from Mrs.Sorrill in room 226 or Mr. Aymer in room 152. All applications are due back by Friday, April 22, 2016, at 3:00 p.m.
Any student with a negative balance on their lunch account will only be served peanut butter and jelly as their lunch entrée.
Counseling Center
Taylorville High School is sponsoring a FAFSA Information Session this evening from 6:00 - 7:00 p.m. in the high school cafeteria. This session is targeted for current 11th and 12th grade students who plan to attend a 2-year college, 4-year university, or trade school after completing high school. To be considered for federal financial aid, students must complete and submit a FAFSA, the Free Application for Federal Student Aid. Most states, colleges, and universities use the FAFSA to award other types of institutional financial aid, including state- and college-sponsored financial aid, such as grants, educational loans, and work-study programs. New this year, students will be able to complete the FAFSA in October, 2016 instead of waiting until January, 2017. The session will be presented by Lenore Smith of the Illinois Student Assistance Commission. Parents are encouraged to attend.
Attention Students Grades 9 thru 11: Interested in one of the Military Service Academies? MacArthur High School is hosting an information session on Tuesday, April 19 from 6-7 pm. RSVPS to Hubert.Murray@mail.house.gov or 217.791.6224 by April 15. Speakers from the U.S. Air Force Academy, U.S. Military Academy, U.S. Naval Academy, U.S. Coast Guard, and the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy will be making presentations.
