Journalism
If you would like to help take pictures, write articles, and layout pages for Taylorville High School's award-winning newspaper and yearbook next year, see Mr. Steele in Room 144 for a Journalism I application. Completed applications must be returned to Mr. Steele no later than Tuesday, February 25.
Student Council
Student Council is having a Nitro Ball Tournament tonight at 6:00 p.m. in the West Gym. Teams must consist of 6 to 8 players with 2 people of the opposite gender. Cost is $5 per person. Signup sheet is in the main office or you may sign up at the door. Winning team will receive a cash prize.
Student Council's Green Committee is having a pajama day on Friday, February 28th. For a $2 donation, students can wear school appropriate pajamas. Most of the proceeds will go towards a local Illinois charity that focuses on eco-friendly projects.
THS Spring Musical
Tickets are now on sale for The Adams Family. Reserved seating for adults is $9 and students $7. Show dates are Thursday, March 19th, Friday, March 20th and Saturday, March 21st. Thursday’s performance includes a dinner theater for $20. All shows begin at 7 p.m Reserved tickets can be obtained by calling or texting Kathy Fergin at 217-825-4857. Payments can be made to THS Musical and turned in to Mr. Chase or Kathy Fergin. General admission seats are available each night for $5.
Counseling Center
There was course mistakenly omitted from the available course list. The course College and Career Readiness will still be offered but is not on your pick sheet. This course is in the business department. You will still be able to select this semester long course when inputting your requests into Skyward. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact Mrs. Heberling or Mrs. Glenn.
Pick sheets were passed out last week. Please make sure to select your classes, including at least 3 periods worth of alternates. You must sign this sheet and have your parents sign it. You will then turn it in this week. The due date to turn this sheet is today for current juniors and Thursday, Feb 20 for sophomores and freshmen. You will all have a Pre-registration Requirements information sheet in your email to help assist you with your course selection.
We are now accepting online applications for the CEO program for next year. Please visit christiancountyceo.com to apply now! The deadline for applications is March 1.
