Congratulations:
The THS journalism staff. In the Southern Illinois School Press Association's most recent newspaper and yearbook competition, the 2019 Drift won the coveted Golden Dozen Award, and the Zephyr won the equally prestigious Blue Banner Award. In the newspaper competition, the Zephyr also took first place for Front Page Layout, with sophomore Daniel Sloan placing first in both Sports Writing and News Writing, as well as second in Editorial Column Writing. Junior Elyse Clayton took first and second place in Advertising, as well as third place in both Feature Writing and Best Centerspread Story Package. Sophomore Emmalyn Myers placed first in Editorial Cartoon, with junior Jade Mellon placing second in that same category, as well as in Headline Writing. Sophomore Kimberly Duncan took third place in Computer Graphics, with junior Morgan Hogarth placing third in Humorous Column Writing.

Co-op/STW
All STW students need to pick up an employer report card to be returned to Mrs. Schafer by March 10th. All report cards must be picked up by Friday March 6th. If they are not returned by March 10th you will receive a failing grade for this 9 weeks!
If you registered for Coop/STW for next school year, please stop by and get an application from Mrs. Schafer (Room 130) or Ms. Pennock (Room 303). Applications need to be filled out and returned by March 15.
Weight Lifters
Attention all THS Lifters: Those planning on participating this Saturday in the IHSPLA TORNADO INVITE, need to stop by and pick up a meet form from Coach Mateer by the end of the day on Tuesday, March 10th, 2020. If you have any questions, see Coach Mateer
Student Council
The Student Council Volleyball Tournament is scheduled for Wed., Mar 11 @ 6:30 pm in the West Gym
THS Spring Musical
Tickets are now on sales for The Addams Family. Reserved seating for adults is $9 and students $7. Show dates are Thursday, March 19th, Friday, March 20th and Saturday, March 21st. Thursday’s performance includes a dinner theater for $20. All shows begin at 7 p.m. Reserved tickets can be obtained by calling or texting Kathy Fergin at 217-825-4857. Payments can be made to THS Musical and turned in to Mr. Chase or Kathy Fergin. General admission seats are available each night for $5.
