ANNOUNCEMENTS
Congratulations to Audra Boehme for submitting the winning essay for the Christian County Christopher Columbus Essay Contest.

The Taylorville High School bowling had their yearend banquet and gave the following awards:  For the girls, awards were given out to Camila Tello for most improved bowler. Team captain was Rhea Whitlow, and the most valuable player for the 2014-2015 season was awarded to junior Brittany Alberts. On the boy’s side, Holden Nagle captured the most improved award. The team captain’s award went to the trio of seniors, Brent Frump, Tyler Roth and Lucas Nagle. Lucas Nagle was presented with the 2014-2015 most valuable player awards.  Sophomore bowler Connor Smegal was given the Team Spirit award.

Scholastic Bowl
Match is tonight at 5:00 in the science wing against Mt. Zion and Mattoon. Please be in the science wing by 4:30 to set up. Last match of the season! Wash and return shirts by Monday.

Spring Athletes
All spring sport athletes in Baseball, Softball and Track must be registered for their sport on the 8to18 website before practice begins next week.  Also, your physical must be valid for Monday March 2 in order for you to practice.  See Mr. Held if you have questions.

Baseball
There will be baseball open gym tonight will be from 5:00 to 6:00 pm in the east gym.

Baccalaureate
The first Baccalaureate planning meeting will be held after school (at 3:20) on Thursday, February 26 in room 301.  All seniors who are interested in planning the service AND who have the time to help are invited to attend this meeting.  See Mrs. Chase if you have questions.

Student Council
The Sadie Hawkins dance has been rescheduled to March 7, 2015, from 7:00 pm to 10:00 pm. Please note the time change.  If the new date does not work for you, please see Mrs. Sorrill during advisory ONLY on Thursday, February 26, or Friday, February 27.  Tickets will be sold again next week if you would like to go and did not purchase tickets last week.

Art Show
THS Art Show is this Friday, February 27th from 6:30-8:30 p.m.  If you would like to enter art, please turn it in to Ms. Butler by Wednesday, February 25th.

Girls Softball
Any girls interested in playing softball this spring and you have not contacted Coach Novar, please do so by this Wednesday February 25.

Counseling Center
Attention Juniors:  You will be taking the ACT and WorkKeys standardized tests on March 3 & 4.  Testing room assignments are posted on 3rd floor, on the main lobby bulletin board and are available from your classroom teachers.  Please know your assignment in advance.  You will need to report to 3rd floor at 8:00 a.m. on both days.  Use the center staircase.  Please bring two #2 wood pencils, a calculator and a photo ID.  No cell phones or other materials are allowed.   After ACT testing on March 3 you will be dismissed for the remainder of the day.  On March 4 you will report to classes after WorkKeys testing is completed.

and get a pass from a counselor.

Southeast Missouri State University on Tuesday, March 24 at 9:00 a.m.
Lincoln Land Community College on Tuesday, March 31 at 1:00 p.m.

Employment Opportunity
The Taylorville Park District has job openings for Lifeguards for Manners Park Pool.  Interested candidates must have reached the age of 16 and live in the park district.  The park will train all lifeguards.  Applications must be turned in by the end of the day on Monday, March 2nd to the Manners Park Office. Applications are available at the High School in the Main Office.
