ANNOUNCEMENTS
Prom
Mrs. Doyen is looking for 6 sophomore students to assist at prom this year! Volunteers will receive a free ticket to their Junior prom. Sign up in room 313.

Orders will be taken for Prom T-shirts today during lunch hours or see Mrs. Doyen in Room 313.   All order must be prepaid.  They are $15.

Today is the last day to vote for King and Queen Candidates.  Voting will be during the lunch hours only.

Madrigal Auditions
Madrigal Auditions will be held during the month of May for next year’s Madrigal Singers group.  If you have thought about being a part of this exciting tradition, this is your chance!  Information sheets and the required music for the audition are available now in the main office and outside the choir room (room 159).  There will be an optional audition workshop at 3:30 on Monday, May 4.  Anyone who wants to know what the audition will be like and learn the required music should attend the workshop.  Auditions will be held Tuesday, May 5 and Wednesday, May 6.  You must sign up for a specific audition time outside the choir room

Attention Actors:  It is time to audition for a new Madrigal Scullery Maid and Court Jesters.  Both parts are very important to the success of the Madrigal Dinner.  Information sheets and required script readings are available now in the main office and outside the choir room (room 159).  There will be an optional audition workshop at 4:00 on Monday, April 28.  Auditions will be held Thursday, April 29 and Friday, April 30 beginning at 3:30 pm both days.  See Mr. Chase if you have any questions.  These auditions don’t come around every year, so take advantage of this opportunity if you are at all interested!

Musical DVS’S
Order your "Crazy For You" DVD's.  There is an order form in the main office and DVD's are $10 each.  Bring in your money and fill out the order form today. Orders will be taken until April 24.

Golf
Anyone interested in participating on the 2015-2016 men’s or women’s golf team should meet in Mr. Brannan’s room (141) after school at 3:20 on Thursday, April 16th.  

Wrestling
Wrestling open mats will be at the Jr. High on Thursday, April 16 at 4:30 p.m.

Cheerleading
High School Cheer Tryouts:
Cheerleading Clinics will be held April 13-16th at 4:30-7:00 p.m. at the high school cafeteria.  Actual Tryouts will be on April 17th starting at 4:30 p.m.  Any questions, please call Shelly 827-8787

Poms
As Ren from the classic movie “Footloose” would say: “Let’s Dance!”   Signups for the 2015-16 THS Dance team will begin today through Tuesday, April 21.  Sign-up sheets will be in the main offices of the THS and TJHS.   If you love to dance to contemporary music, enjoy developing your own choreography, and want to represent Taylorville High School, then feel free to sign up and attend tryouts on April 29, 30, and May 1.  All potential dancers will need an UPDATED PHYSICAL ON FILE in order to try-out.   Grab your dancing shoes and your best friends and we will see you at tryouts.

 

Student Council
Student Council applications are available from Mr. Aymer in room 152 or Mrs. Sorrill in room 226.  All applications are due by Thursday, April 30, 2015, at 3:30 pm.  If you take an application, please be sure to read the coversheet thoroughly. If you have any questions, please see Mr. Aymer or Mrs. Sorrill.

Student Council is asking for donations of gently used iPods. If you have an old iPod shuffle or Nano sitting in a drawer, please consider donating it.  The iPods will be given to clients at Gowin Parc for their new music and memory program.  IPods can be given to Lauren Barto, Jade Bergschneider or Mrs. Sorrill.

Student Council will be hosting a blood drive from 9-4 p.m. in the East Gym on Friday, April 17, 2015.
Sign-up sheets are in the Main Office.  Students who are 16 years of age must also have a parental consent form.

Counseling Center
Attention Students:  Applications for summer employment at Monsanto corn research and soybean purity are now available in Student Services.  Application deadline is May 22.

Attention Seniors:  The Dorris Scholarship application is now available in Student Services.  Applicants must plan on attending Eastern Illinois University.
Deadline to apply is April 30, 2015. 

Attention Seniors:  Scholarship applications for the Ronnie Perona Memorial Scholarship are now available in Student Services. 
Applicants must have participated in a sport either at Taylorville High School or with an outside organization.  Deadline to apply is April 27, 2015.
