Picture Day
Students and faculty who still need to have their pictures taken by the official school photographer will have one final opportunity today. The photographer will be available in the cafeteria today, from 7 o'clock in the morning until the end of the last lunch period. All students and faculty are required to have their pictures taken by the official school photographer for attendance purposes, as well as inclusion in the yearbook. No purchase is necessary, but order forms will be available for those wishing to order additional pictures.

Science Club
Science Club will have a cookout Wed (Sept. 16) at Taylorville Lake Kiwanis Park at 4:00 PM
Art Club
There will be a mandatory meeting after school on Wednesday, 9/16, for all art club members.  All art club members must attend.
Homecoming Voting
First round of homecoming voting will take place today during lunch hours only.  If you are a LLCC student, you must vote in the cafeteria before you leave.  Second round will take place later in the week.
Student Council
Student Council is in need of four convertibles to be used in the Homecoming Parade on Wednesday, September 23rd at 4:30 p.m.  If you are able to loan the use of a vehicle or know of someone who would, please see Mr. Aymer in Room 152.
Homecoming
Guest Passes for homecoming are available in the Main Office.  Homecoming is for Taylorville High School Students and their guest.  If you are bringing a guest that is not a student at THS the following rules apply:
1.   Guest cannot be a student at any junior high school.
2.   THS student is responsible for securing a guest pass form and having their guest complete all the required information.
3.   THS student is required to have guest pass form signed by Taylorville High School Administrator prior to the event and student must present form along with picture ID of guest to gain entrance to the dance.
Counseling Center
There will be a meeting for seniors with Illini Grad Sales - Herff Jones on Tuesday, September 29 at 8:20 a.m.  Seniors MUST report to 1st hour class for attendance, the pledge of allegiance and to listen to morning announcements before reporting to the cafeteria for the meeting regarding seniors ordering cap/gown/tassel and other senior items.

Ordering of cap/gown/tassel unit and other senior items will be on Wednesday, October 7 beginning at 8:20 a.m. and will report by alphabetical list that will be sent out closer to the ordering date.
This year ALL senior must order a cap/gown/.tassel unit as these will not be the same as prior years.

Attention Seniors:
We are using electronic transcripts to send to colleges and universities.  Please create an account at www.parchment.com to make your requests.  If you need help, see Mrs. Sawyer or Ms. Wagoner in Student Services.
Seniors – juniors – sophomores:  The ASVAB test will be given at THS on Monday, September 28 for seniors, juniors & sophomores. This is the military aptitude test that can help you qualify for military positions AND help you take steps toward finding a career that’s right for you.  You are NOT obligated to the military in any way after taking this test.  There is NO COST for this test. Seats are limited so sign up today.  Priority will be given to seniors, juniors and then sophomores if needed.
Attention Students:  Memorial Medical Center in Springfield is sponsoring the Memorial Explorer Post 1897 program for students interested in a healthcare career.  The program consists of six sessions scheduled from October - February.  The first event starts October 8.  Additional information is available in Student Services.  
Attention Seniors:  A list of college visit days for the month of October is now available in Student Services, from classroom teachers, on the counseling link of the high school web page, and via your Remind app.  Please refer to page 118 in your agenda book when planning college visits.
Attention Students:  The Illinois Department of Transportation is sponsoring an Explorers Post for students interested in engineering as a career.  The first event takes place on September 22 from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m.  Additional information and registration forms are available in Student Services.  
Attention Students:  An admissions representative from Southeast Missouri State University (SEMO) will be here on today at 9:00 a.m. to meet with students to discuss this university.  If interested in attending this session, please register in Student Services and get a pass from a counselor.
