Congratulations
Congratulations to the THS journalism staff. Among Division IV schools in the Illinois Journalism Education Association's 2017 yearbook competition, the THS Drift received six first-place awards, including Best Overall Yearbook, Best Copy Writing, Best Sports Coverage, Best Layout and Design, Best Overall Coverage, and Best Theme Development, as well as a second for Graphics and a third for Dividers.
Musical
SEUSSICAL THE MUSICAL auditions will continue as scheduled today.  There will be more students auditioning, so please be prepared to stay longer than normal and be patient with the process.
Journalism Applications
Any students wanting to join the THS journalism program next year and write articles for both the high school newspaper and yearbook should pick up an application in Room 144 either before or after school. Completed applications must be turned in to Mr. Steele no later than Friday, January 26.
History of Rock-N-Roll
Looking for that unique, cool elective as you think about course selection for next year?  Well look no farther! The History of Rock-N-Roll has been added to the course selection at THS beginning next year.  From the Blues to the British Invasion to Punk and Metal, this class will be a great musical journey.  Look for it on your course pick sheets!
Student Council
There will be a blood drive in the East Gym from 9:00 a.m. until 3:30 p.m. on Friday, January 19th.   Sign-up sheets are available in the Main Office.  Parental consent forms for students 16 years of age are required.
Counseling Center
Attention Seniors: The 4th annual Scholarship Awareness Day will be held Thursday, January 25 during the lunch hours in the cafeteria.  Several scholarship donors will be in attendance to discuss their scholarship applications and awards.  Scholarships are a great way for students to fund their college education.  Be sure to stop by the display tables!

There will be a representative from Southeast Missouri State here on Wednesday, 2/14/18 at 8:30 am.  If you are interested in meeting with them, please see your counselor.
