Dance Team

Do you like to dance and have fun? Do you have school spirit? If you have answered yes to any of these questions please attend the initial meeting for the 2019-2020 Dance team on March 25th at 7:00PM in room 141. Parents and dancers are welcome to come and listen to what the THS dance team has in store for the 2019-2020 school year. If you cannot attend, but would like information please email Coach Odam at heatherlwil@hotmail.com

Musical

Tickets are on sale in the Main Office for the spring musical, Cinderella. RESERVED SEATS are $9.00 for Adults, $7.00 for students. General Admission tickets are $7.00 for adults and $5.00 for students, but do not need to be pre-ordered. These are available at the door prior to each performance and are first come, first serve seating.

"Dinner and a Show" tickets are $20.00 each and include a catered dinner (provided

by FEMA) and one reserved seat for the Thursday, March 28th . Performance dates are Thursday, March 28, Friday, March 29th Saturday, March 30th show time is 7:00 p.m. with the Saturday Matinee at 2:00 p.m.

Counseling Center

Please check your school email for the latest scholarship bulletin. A copy of the Scholarship Bulletin is also available on the Counseling Department website. Several scholarships have deadlines approaching!

Attention all juniors: the SAT is fast approaching. Brush-up your math skills in Mrs.Rivecco’s room, every Thursday during advisory. Practice + Confidence = Success!

Below is a list of scholarships that are available and have due dates that are fast approaching:

Aramark Education Scholarship

Students majoring in Culinary Arts, Nutrition/Dietetics, Agriculture-related field, Business-related field, or Restaurant/Tourism Management. Deadline to apply: March 31, 2019

Assalley Funeral Homes Community Service Scholarship

Students involved in school and community service. Deadline to apply: April 12, 2019

Celia & Hershel Harbarger Scholarship

Applicant must live in the former Stonington School District. Deadline to apply: April 1, 2019

Community Women’s Association Scholarship

Must have 2.5 GPA or higher, demonstrate financial need and be a female. Deadline to apply: March 19, 2019

Dixon Zeigler Scholarship

The student’s permanent residence must be located in the last boundaries of former Stonington Unit School District, when it was annexed to the Taylorville CUSD #3, in the year 1992. Student must graduate Taylorville High School in the top-half of their graduating class. Deadline to apply: March 31, 2019

Dr. George Ferry Memorial Scholarship

Must have taken Introduction to Human Anatomy & Physiology and Chemistry. Must major in a healthcare field Deadline to apply: April 1, 2019 by 3:00 pm.

Harry E. Griswold Scholarship

Must be ranked in upper 25% of the senior class. Deadline to apply: April 1, 2019

Ken Deck Memorial Scholarship

Must be a student-athlete. Deadline to apply: April 12, 2019

Kiwanis Club of Taylorville Scholarship Program

Involvement in Builders Club or Key Club required. Deadline to apply: April 12, 2019

Libby Moore Memorial Scholarship

Must major in Education or a medical profession. Deadline to apply: April 1, 2019
Taylorville Education Association (TEA) Scholarship

Must be in top 35% of graduating class and have GPA 4.0/5.0 scale. Deadline to apply: April 12, 2019

Taylorville Optimist Club “Scotty” Canale Friend of Youth Scholarship

Preference will be given to students who will be attending a community college or trade school or other approved 2-year higher education institution. Deadline to apply: April 1, 2019

Wilma Wolfe Nursing Scholarship

Must major in Nursing. Deadline to apply: April 1, 2019
