ANNOUNCEMENTS
The annual Coat Challenge is now taking place and will continue until October 25th.  Bring us your old coats that are in good shape or purchase a new coat to donate.  All sizes and genders are needed.  We have a special need for children’s coats.  Help us make the annual coat drive a success.  Coats may be dropped off in Mrs. Schafer’s room, Mr. Elvidge’s room or the box located in the Main Foyer.  Person or group who brings in the most coats wins a $50 Angelo’s gift card.  

Counseling Center
Attention Students:  The following colleges will have admission representatives here to meet with students on the following dates.  If interested in attending, please register in Student Services and get a pass from a counselor.
Eureka College - Tuesday, Sept. 29 at 10:00 a.m.
There will be a meeting for seniors with Illini Grad Sales - Herff Jones today at 8:20 a.m.  Seniors MUST report to 1st hour class for attendance, the pledge of allegiance and to listen to morning announcements before reporting to the cafeteria for the meeting regarding seniors ordering cap/gown/tassel and other senior items.

Ordering of cap/gown/tassel unit and other senior items will be on Wednesday, October 7 beginning at 8:20 a.m. and will report by alphabetical list that will be sent out closer to the ordering date.
This year ALL senior must order a cap/gown/.tassel unit as these will not be the same as prior years.
Attention Seniors:  Applications for the Taylorville Community Credit Union are now available in Student Services.  Six $500 scholarship awards are available.  Deadline to apply is October 23.
Attention Seniors:  Applications for the Wendy's High School Heisman Award are now available online at www.wendyshighschoolheisman.com.  Applicants must be student athletes with a "B" academic average and participate in community activities.  Deadline to apply is October 2.  
Attentions Students:  Our annual College Fair will be held on Wednesday, October 7 in the high school cafeteria from 6:00 - 7:30 p.m.  College, university, and military representatives will be here to discuss the admission process and academic opportunities.  Two financial aid sessions will be presented at 5:30 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. in Room 166.  This free event is open to all students and parents. We encourage everyone to attend to explore your opportunities after high school.
Attention Students:  Memorial Medical Center in Springfield is sponsoring the Memorial Explorer Post 1897 program for students interested in a healthcare career.  The program consists of six sessions scheduled from October - February.  The first event starts October 8.  Additional information is available in Student Services.
